Last weekend I shoot picture during the Ski jumping World Championships trails in Vikersund.
With a World record of 246,5 meter Friday and victory to Norwegian Johan Remen Evensen Saturday and second place Sunday, the atmosphere throughout the weekend was great. Here are some of my favourites, including a sideshow of Johan Remen Evensens 240 meter jump Saturday.

Før jul investerte jeg i langrennsski. I barndommen sutret jeg hver gang jeg fikk spent langrennski på beina, nå er jeg i ferd med å få dilla. Å komme seg ut i marka er fint, når man kan i tillegg kan logge hvor man går med app´s som Runkeeper er det en perfekt kombinasjon for en teknologiinteressert og trenings-glad fyr som meg.

Jeg har iMarka på iPhonen min, og den er bra, men den støtter ikke kart. App´en Skisporet støtter kart, men ikke veldig bra synes jeg. Man kan blant annet ikke vise spesifikke ruter, samtidig som jeg ønsker å ha følge ruteforslagene til Skiforeningen.  Så mens jeg venter på at min kamerat Anders skal plukke meg opp, sitter jeg og surfer på skiforeningen.no for å finne ut hvor det er bra å gå på en lørdags ettermiddag. Valget faller på Rundtur fra Solemskogen.

Ruta ser bra ut, dog litt dårlig preppstatus. Jeg finner frem til Solemskogen, har vært på Lilloseter, men litt usikker på de andre stoppene i løypa. Så hvordan sørge jeg for at jeg ikke roter meg bort? Skiforeningens Google KML filer og Google earth på min iPhone blir løsningen. Dette gjør jeg:

Steg 1, legge til rute

På skiforeningen.no ligger alle ruter definert som egne Google KML filer. Som mitt eksempel Rundtur fra Solemskogen. Klikk på Google maps symbolet og så få opp KML URL´en

Steg 2, importer rute

Logg deg på Google og velg Kart. Velg så Mine kart, Opprett et nytt kart og så Importer.
Lim inn KML url´en som du kopierte i steg 1. Her har man mulighet til å gi kartet et navn og sette opp deling osv.

Steg 3,  legg til kartkonto i Google Earth

I Google earth app´en under Options finnes My maps Account. Her legger man inn Google brukernavn og passord. Så vil du få spørsmål om å verifisere, noe du må godkjenne. Kartet som man la inn i steg 2 skal da dukke opp i  listen under My Maps . Her kan man også velge å skru av og på visning av det enkelte kartet. Noe som er praktisk hvis man etterhvert får mange kart.

A friend of mine Ida, is a professional kick boxer and in 2 weeks she will be competing in SportAccord Combat Games 2010 Beijing. Ida asked me to take some lifestyle shots for her, which I off course did. The shoots are taken at Fiskars in Nydalen where Ida works with marketing.

Clouded, and with rain on it´s way, we just managed to shoot before it started pouring down. Using two speed lights, I had two different set ups.

• Both speed lights 45 degrees on, using reflectors.
• One on 200 degrees for back light, and one at 0 degrees shooting through a white umbrella

The picture of Hanne and Lars Morten with Lars Morten best man Espen, and Hannes maid of honor Ingunn, is two speed lights 45 degrees on. I´m starting to like flash photography, just wish I had a third speed light..

I bought a new apartment in February, which I spent quite a lot of time and money in remodeling. With complements from Polen and my friends I have gotten the apartment the way I wanted it. One of the things that I did this week was to put up wallpaper in my bedroom. Being in love with ocean, I thought it would be a good idea to give my bedroom a touch if ocean. I asked photographer and kiteboarder Bryan Elkus to use one of his pictures from Cape Hatteras, and with help from my colleague and friend Kaare Øystein Trædal, I got it the way I wanted. Thanks guys!

Red Bull hosted a kite event at Haugastøl Norway this weekend, and I was there. What an event. On Friday 110 kiters competed in a endurance kite race, and Saturday a snowboard / ski cable track freestyle competition.

The participant event Red Bull Ragnarok will select up to 200 riders from all over the world to race for 3 hours; 6 rounds of approximately 30 minutes each, stretching from 10-20km. After each round, if not already given up voluntarily, a number of snow-kite heroes will be eliminated.

After a crazy race start Friday, I was doing well after 3 of 5 round holding 4th position. But patience ran out after the wind died for the second time, so I forfeited. Did not bring my camera that day ( picture coming soon) . On Saturday I took pictures of all the snowboarder doing crazy stuff at the cable track kickers and sliders.

One of the stops on my around the world trip was Antigua. Here I met Adam, a local kiteboarder and admin of www.kitescoop.com. Adam took me and one of his local kiteboarding friends Jake out for a spin one day, and I took lifestyle shoots them. Adam wanted to use the pictures on his new web page, which I was totally cool with. Today he launched his new site today. Congratulations Adam!

After I got my new Hackintosh up and running, I have so much storage. I decided to add some of my older pictures to my Lightroom library. Running Snow Leopard, I´m also able to run Lightroom in 64 bits mode. I am not sure how much faster it is since I need more time with it, but rendering RAW images is quicker. Anyway, I found this picture from a trip to Haugastøl almost 3 years ago. I was windy, but bad weather, I was in the car almost the entire day. I was bored, and took this picture. I kind of like it.

After hocking up on Facebook almost a year ago, I finally managed to meet be old army college buddy, Anders. I had not seen Anders since we graduated 11 years ago, so I was pretty excited. After living in different part of northern Norway, Anders and he´s family moved back to were he and his wife Tone grew up, Senja. This is Norways second biggest island, and is the northern part of Norway, a 2 hour flight from Oslo.

On saturday, Anders took me around the island, and it has some pretty stunning nature.
The weather was not all that great though, something I really felt on our mountain trip, 30 knots and snow. Not exactly a walk in the park. But all in all we had a great weekend with catching up, good food, FIFA 09, mountain trip and I got to meet Anders and Tone´s kids, Erik and Frida and Anders parents.
