I finally invested in a tripod, and I chose Benro C-297. I´t a carbon fiber tripod, so the weight is not that bad, and the build is very good. I also bought a Manfrotto 804RC2 pan / tilt head, but I´m not all that impressed with that. The mount on the Manfrotto is not solid enough to support my camera when I have Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS USM mounted on my camera body. It tilts a couple of degrees after the handgrip /adjustment is tightened. Anyway, I took it all out for a spin today, and these are some visual expression from my first "tripod shootout"

Colors or Colours? Same-same but different. Last week I started writing a article with the mission of finding my ideal color space on my camera Canon EOS 5D mark II. After a lot of help from people on foto.no, this is what came out of it. 1. When pictures are recorded / saved in RAW format, color space settings on the camera is indifferent, since this information is not recorded in the file it self. The reason that I got confused, was that the working color space in my Lightroom was set to sRGB and not ProRGB (another color space..), which for some reason made a difference when I exported RAW images from Lightroom.

2. 16 bits color depth is also possible when using sRGB 3. When recording / saving pictures to JPG, use Adobe RGB. If the pictures are to be used on screen / web, convert to sRGB ( like the picture bellow). As simple as that (until next time I get confused) Click on image to enlarge |
